Why do internet companies offer %26quot;free%26quot; things........when you log onto their site to get that %26quot;free%26quot; thing....you have to give them a credit card? Why do I have to give my credit card for that free thing?

Some companies give out free things for a ton of different reasons. The good ones give them out because they want to show how good their product is. Hopefully you will like it and want to purchase it in the future.
other people just want to try to screw you by giving you %26quot;Free things%26quot; that arent really free in the process you fill out a bunch of forms and information that they make money selling.
You have to be careful of the second type.
Check out http://www.sampleaday.com its the first type and it has sample added every day. You can sign up to the newsletter and get the new sample in your inbox if you want to but its not required...

You don%26#039;t have to. Back out immediately. Nothing is really free. NEVER give cc details to these sites, there may be a few legitimate ones, but you can%26#039;t tell which are. This can be used for identity theft or just to empty your bank account.|||They want to rip you off or scam you.|||they usually want you to pay for something first before you get that %26quot;free%26quot; thing. I never went through with one all the way (stopped at the credit card part) so I don%26#039;t know if they actually send you the %26quot;free%26quot; thing. It%26#039;s a scam to get your money. The %26quot;free%26quot; offer is to attract you.
